Point of Sale Tutorials

Point of Sale (PoS) is a digital system that enables businesses to complete sales transactions efficiently and accurately. It typically combines hardware—such as a register, barcode scanner, or card reader—with software that records sales, processes payments, and manages inventory. Modern POS systems such as QuickEasy BOS go beyond simple transactions by offering features like real-time reporting, customer management, and integration with accounting tools.

The PoS module is QuickEasy BOS provides for multiple tills and users.

Navigation: Main Menu > Sign Out (PoS)

These tutorials explain how to use the Point-of-Sale features. These features only work after the setup steps have been completed.

This module is still in beta testing, and not all the features work as intended yet.

How to Clock In to PoS

  1. Click Sign Out (PoS) (button) on the main menu.
    • Note: Once you sign it, you cannot close the interface without exiting BOS. Only the Transact button allows you to exit but then all the transactions you capture are recorded as part of PoS.
  2. Type your pin in the block provided.
  3. Click Clock (button) or Restore (button) if it is displayed.
  4. You are prompted to open a Till Session. Click Yes (button) and follow the instructions below.

How to Count and Record the Starting Cash / Start a Till Session

  1. Click Sign Out (POS) (button) on the main menu if you are not already in the interface.
  2. Type your pin in the block provided.
  3. Click Till (button).
  4. In the header select a Till from the dropdown list next to Till.
  5. Click Save (button) to fill in the Expected Cash.
  6. Count the cash and enter the quantities in the blocks provided on the left side of the Cash tab.
  7. Click Save (button) to check if there is a variance.
  8. Edit any of the fields if necessary.
  9. Click Done (button).
    • Note: Once Done (button) is clicked the cash opening balance cannot be changed.
  10. Click the arrow next to Till Session to return to the main page.

How to Count and Record the Closing Cash / Close a Till Session

  1. Click Sign Out (POS).
  2. Type your pin in the block provided.
  3. Click Till (button).
  4. Count the cash and enter the quantities in the blocks provided on the right side of the Cash tab.
    • Note: The closing quantities can only be edited when a Till session has an Open status.
  5. Click Save (button) to check if there is a variance.
  6. Edit any of the fields if necessary.
  7. Click Done (button) and confirm that you want to close the session.

How to Resume a Till Session

This procedure can be followed when you closed QuickEasy BOS while a session was open.

  1. Click Sign Out (POS).
  2. Type your pin in the block provided.
  3. Click Restore (button).

How to View the PoS Bank Transactions for a Session

  1. Click Sign Out (POS).
  2. Type your pin in the block provided.
  3. Click Till (button).
  4. Click Bank (tab).
  5. After you have viewed the bank transactions click the arrow next to Till Session to return to the main page.

How to View all PoS Transactions for a Session

  1. Click Sign Out (POS).
  2. Type your pin in the block provided.
  3. Click Till (button).
  4. Click Transactions (tab).
  5. After you have viewed the transactions click the arrow next to Till Session to return to the main page.

How to Clock Out of PoS

  1. Click Sign Out (POS).
  2. Type your pin in the block provided.
  3. Click Clock (button).
  4. If you receive a message that you are the last user and cannot clock out do the following:
    1. Click Till (button)
    2. Complete the cashing up as explained above.
  5. Confirm that you want to close BOS.
    • Note: If you are returned to the main PoS interface, click the X in the corner and confirm that you want to exit BOS.

How to Record Transactions from PoS

  1. Click Sign Out (POS).
  2. Type your pin in the block provided.
  3. Click Transact (button).
  4. Capture any transactions as you normally would.
  5. Click Sign Out (POS).
  6. Enter your PIN.
  7. Continue using POS as you normally would.
