Cloud Hosting

This page describes the cloud hosting services used by QuickEasy BOS.

Cloud Host Provider

• Databases are hosted on AWS RDS (Amazon Relational Database Service).
• QuickEasy is allocated a cluster within that server.
• An unlimited number of databases can be created within this PostgreSQL cluster.

Regions

• The service is region based with current regions in Cape Town, Singapore, Thailand, Ireland, and UAE.
• More regions can be added.
• Each region contains a backend server, and desktop applications connect directly to a database in the same region.
• The database is allocated a region that is the closest geographically to most users of that database.
• Users who are far away from the region may experience a delay in accessing the database (e.g. if your server is hosted in Thailand and you take a business trip to the USA, you can still access the database but you might experience a lag).

Scale

• Server sizes scale according to requirements on AWS, starting with micro servers. 
• Because we use AWS, there is no limit on how large our business, or your business can grow in terms of server requirements.
• Resource usage (CPU, memory, storage) is monitored to trigger scaling when needed.

Backups and Security

• Security features are provided by AWS.
• Backups are automated and stored on a different server.

• Q: What must we do?
  • A: Sign up for QuickEasy BOS, we take it from there. We manage everything using our AWS interface and BOS Tools. 
• Q: What will it cost us?
  • A: The costs for cloud hosting is included in your monthly subscription. 
• Q: If we expand our business, can your hosting service keep up?
  • A: Yes. We use one of the largest cloud server providers in the world. Scalability is not an issue.
