Admin – Currencies

  • Currencies must be activated before they will update the exchange rates in BOS.
  • Statuses are set as follows:
    • 0: Inactive.
    • 1: Active: All currencies with Active statuses are updated daily. 
    • 2: Active (Local): Indicates the currency is used as a local currency. 
  • Only Active Currencies are updated daily on the Master > Admin Database shortly after midnight in the time zone of the Local Currency.
  • The update time zone is set in the Currency module.
  • Currencies are updated from the Master Database to the Client’s Local Database on the first login of the day. (Check for the last update date < today.)
  • Where a currency is used across multiple time zones, the first time zone is used.
  • The Exchange Rate allows up to 16 decimals.

How to Activate a Currency

Currencies must be activated before their Exchange Rates will be updated in BOS.

  1. Navigate to the Currency interface. 
  2. Click Edit (button).
  3. Click the arrow in the block next to Filter and select Show All.
  4. Right click the currency you want to add and select Activate from the context menu.
  5. If the currency is going to be a Local Currency, right-click the currency and select Set to Local from the context menu.

How to Remove a Currency from Local Currencies

Currencies must be activated before their Exchange Rates will be updated in BOS.

  1. Navigate to the Currency interface.
  2. Click Edit (button).
  3. Click the arrow in the block next to Filter and select Active (local).
  4. Right click the currency you want to remove and select Remove from Local from the context menu.

How to Edit a Currency

  1. Navigate to the Currency interface. 
  2. Click Edit (button).
  3. Make any changes.
  4. Click Save (button).

How to Change a Currency’s Time Zone

  1. Navigate to the Currency interface. 
  2. Right click the applicable Currency and select Change Timezone from the context menu.
  3. Select a new zone from the dropdown list next to Update Timezone.
  4. Click OK (button).

How to Deactivate a Currency

  1. Navigate to the Currency interface. 
  2. Right click the applicable currency and select Deactivate from the context menu.
    • Note: If a currency is set as a Local Currency, you must first deactivate the local currency setting before you can deactivate the currency.
  3. Confirm the deactivation.
