Grid Views

Grid views refer to the display of data in a tabular form using columns (fields) and rows (records). The columns represent the various fields or attributes of the data, whereas the rows represent individual records or instances of the data. 

Records in the grid are displayed by setting a data filter and clicking View (button) on the button bar at the top of the panel.

Column Layout

ResizingColumns can be resized by dragging the lines between columns.
Best FitUsers can right-click the header and select Best Fit from the context menu.
This function adjusts the width of the column to fit the column with the widest content.
Reordering ColumnsColumns can be reordered by clicking a column header and dragging it to a new location.
Reordering FieldsField records can be sorted in ascending or descending order.
Clicking the column header changes the sort order.
Removing ColumnsA column can be removed by using the Field Chooser (*) in the first column to add or remove columns.
A column can also be removed by right clicking the column header and selecting Remove This Column from the context menu.
Adding ColumnsColumns can be added using the Field Chooser (*) in the first column.
This field displays all the columns.
The Field Chooser (*) is also available from the context menu (right-click any column header).
AlignmentThe data in the column can be aligned by right clicking the Header > Alignment and selecting an option:
– Align Left
– Align Right
– Align Center
ResetThe column layout can be reset to the default layout by clicking Menu (button) > Restore Default (All Users).
The reset feature requires QuickEasy BOS to be restarted.

FieldDescription
PositionSearch bar, when available, is displayed to the left and directly above the grid.
It is only displayed once the list of entries is displayed (i.e. View (button) clicked).
Search ParametersUsers can search using a snippet, phrase, full description, or a selection of characters.
Resetting SearchThe search text can be cleared by clicking the red X next to the search bar (which only appears after a search is performed).

Grid Filters

Accessing the filterThe filter is accessed by hovering a mouse over the header until the Soft Filter Icon is displayed (a funnel). (See screenshot above this table.)
Using the filterOnce clicked, the Soft Filter Icon displays a dropdown list from which one or more options can be selected.
The dropdown list consists of records in the applicable column.
Once a filter is selected, the Soft Filter Icon changes to blue.
Filter InformationWhen a filter is applied the information is displayed in the bottom left-hand corner. (See screenshot below this table.)
Resetting the filterThe filter is reset by clicking the Soft Filter Icon and selecting All from the dropdown list.
The filter can also be reset by clicking the X in the bottom left-hand corner next to the filter information.

Recent Buttons

List View

The Recent button, on the main menu, displays the modules (menu options) recently viewed and the view that was active. Click an entry to return to it.


Edit View

  • The Recent button, on edit views, displays the transaction numbers that were recently viewed or edited of the same transaction type. Click an entry to open that transaction.
  • Links to other transactions are shown under a Links button. If there are no linked transactions, the button is supressed.
