Asset Groups (Categories)

You can create and unlimited number of Groups (Categories) for Assets.

Groups are used to sort and filter records.

Navigation: Main Menu > Setup > Assets > Menu (button) > Edit Groups

Currently the interface uses Groups instead of Categories. The terminology will be standardised in a future release.

How to Create a Category

  1. Navigate to Edit Categories.
  2. Click Add/Edit (button).
  3. Click anywhere in the top row where it shows: Click here to add a new row.
  4. Code = Type a descriptive abbreviation for the category.
  5. Description = Type a description for the category.
  6. Click Save (button).

How to Edit a Category

  1. Navigate to Edit Categories.
  2. Click Add/Edit (button).
  3. Edit the records by overtyping the existing data.
  4. Click Save (button).

How to Delete a Category

  1. Navigate to Edit Categories.
  2. Click Add/Edit (button).
  3. Right click and entry and click Delete on the context menu.
  4. Confirm the deletion on the popup.

How to Assign Categories

  1. Double-click an Assets on the list of assets.
  2. Click Edit (button) on the top row if it is not greyed out.
  3. Click the ellipses (…) next to Categories in the header.
  4. Using the arrow keys in the middle, move all the Categories you want to allocate from the Available to the Selected section.
    • Note: To remove a category, move the category from the Selected section to the Available section.
  5. Click Save (button).
    • Note: To discard your changes, close the popup with the X in the corner.
